The How To Rent guide is provided by the Government to help tenants and landlords within the private rented sector understand their rights and responsibilities. It provides a checklist and more detailed information on each stage of the renting process, including what to look out for before renting and what to do if things go wrong.
The guide is regularly updated by the Government, but they do not provide notifications when they do so. It is the landlord’s responsibility to ensure the tenant gets an up to date copy of the guide, and they would be liable if the tenant receives a copy which is out of date, by even a day. It is an easy mistake to make, do not leave your business unprotected.
We have designed a tool that checks the government website every hour for updates and can send you automatic notifications over email when it has been changed.
