Nature inspired textiles are being carried through as a staple in 2020. Energising and uplifting, plants and plant motifs have huge decorative potential in the home and enduring appeal. Botanical prints for fabrics and wallpaper are pretty without being over-feminine and they work just as well in modern, country, or classic schemes.
“Floral and leaf prints speak to our need to connect with nature; even representations of nature can increase our sense of well-being. Biophilic designs also respond to our growing concerns about environmental degradation,” Gonzales, Interior Designer.
The smaller pastel flowers that followed country or romantic themes popular in 2019, are being replaced with bolder botanical prints in 2020. The bolder prints can allow more base cloth to be shown, making them perfect for furniture and provide a more calming aesthetic.
